Hands-On Virtual Cooking Class Wednesday, December 16, 6:30-8:00Zoom Join in the fun! We're making healthy holiday treats! Felisha Chandler of Cornell Cooperative Extension of Rensselaer County makes learning to cook entertaining and educational. Appropriate for all ages. You will need a computer, laptop, or tablet to see and participate in this class. Join us on Zoom from your own kitchen. Only one registration per household is needed. Everyone who participates in the class will be in a raffle to win a cookbook!

Pen-to-Pandemic Short Story Contest At the East Greenbush Community Library, we love our local authors! Do you have a story to tell? In support of our home-grown talent, we invite submissions of original short stories. The theme is “Pen-to-Pandemic." This will be a work of fiction set in Rensselaer County during the COVID-19 pandemic. Any genre is welcome as long as it is between 1500-2000 words. The contest is open to Rensselaer County adults 18 or older. Registration will begin online on January 15th and submissions must be received by March 15th. You will need the name of your story to register for the contest. All stories must be previously unpublished. Stories will be judged anonymously. More details and a registration link will be posted to our website soon.

Winter Reading Challenge 2021 starts January 5! The 2021 Winter Reading Challenge begins on January 5, 2021. Join the challenge online through Beanstack (link available on our website by January 5) or using our traditional paper game card (available beginning January 5th in the library or at our drive-thru window). This winter's theme, Fun and Games, will keep you entertained on the cold days ahead! Trivia Returns! Our always-popular virtual trivia night will return in January. Stay tuned for dates and details.
