Dear Families, I have been reading with your children about fall and Thanksgiving. There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed a Pie by Allison Jackson made an appearance in puppet form. We sang "Over the River and Through the Woods," as well as read the book. The older school children and I are reading a Newbery Award Winner from 1942. It is exciting and we ended on a "cliff hanger." I love your children's excitement over books. The excitement is contagious and I fall in love with books again myself. Carve out time to read with your child/children this season. You know the saying: "so many books, so little time." ~Ms. Robyn Hello again, I hope you all enjoyed your Thanksgiving Turkeys and are getting ready for the December Holidays. November was such a fast month! I can't believe we're getting ready for December already. Looking back, November was a great success for the Children's Department. Our Nutcracker Sweet Tea Party was a hit! We are grateful to Sarah Harrigan-Ramos and the Richland Academy of the Arts for joining us this year. We had a blast learning about the Nutcracker, dancing, and having tea together. We hope to see you again next year! Otherwise, November was business as usual. We continued traveling the states in Home School Group, talked about all kinds of Homes in Story Time, and made Marble Runs in Tween Group. Looking ahead, December appears to be just as fantastic! I'm looking forward to the Music Night here at the library. Story Times will hopefully get us up and moving as we talk about Things to Do. I'm looking forward to our activity in Tween Group this month. We'll be working on making End of Year Time Capsules and I can't wait to see what the Tweens thought were the best parts of 2017! Happy reading and I hope you have fantastic holidays! ~Miss Jami
