Dear Readers, I have been busy reading out and about with the area children. The younger children and I have been reading about pancakes and, of course, making imaginary pancakes in circle time. Children love helping out in the kitchen. It can be a little messy, but the memories are worth it. The older school children ad I have been finishing our chapter book and learning facts about Pioneer Times in America. We talk about the value of a spinning wheel, butter churns, and other equipment that improved life. Stay warm and keep reading and learning. ~Ms. Robyn Hello, again! I hope you're staying warm! 2018 is off to a fabulous start here in the Children's Department. I'm looking forward to seeing how the rest of the year goes. I had a blast at our 4th Annual Children's Craft Carnival. My parents enjoyed their visit and their Haunted House Fishing Booth was once again a success. I hope everyone had as much fun as I did and I hope to see you all again next year! We've learned a lot about farms and farm animals in Story Time and the Home School Group continued learning new things about our states. The Tweens competed in Scavenger Hunts. Looking ahead, I'm excited to finally talk about Pennsylvania with the Home School Group. In Story Time we'll spend the month reading about pets. The Tweens get to create with Rocks--we might make pet rocks. That's my dad's favorite kind of pet; they're the easiest to clean up after! Finally, we'll be hosting our first Family Fort Night. This should be great fun for the whole family. We'll make blanket forts, eat s'mores, and read camping stories. Due to space restrictions, sign-up is required. I hope to see you there! Happy Reading! ~Miss Jami
