This month is the last month for Summer Stride. It ends on the 19th so not to late to sign up or finish reading to earn your book bag!

May 19 - August 19 Summer Stride encourages all ages and abilities to have fun reading and learning this summer. Stop by a neighborhood library and check out books, comics, eBooks, audiobooks, movies, music and more. Plus, choose from more than 800 programs (all free!) to deepen reading enjoyment, spark STEM passions and learn through active, outside exploration. Beginning May 19, pick up a tracking guide to record your reading, listening and learning time, and work your way to a coveted finishing prize that will help you contain all your new interests! Time spent at the Library counts towards your goal, so be sure to check out the Stride Guide, which lists all our free summer events, activities and programs.

2, 9, 16, 23 & 30 AUGUST, THURSDAY - 10:15-10:45 AM & 11:00-11:30 AM Toddler Tales Books, rhymes, music, movement, and more for toddlers, 16 months through age 2 and their caregivers. 2 AUGUST, THURSDAY 3:00-4:30 PM Color Diffusion Butterfly Craft - Join us for this hands-on art project. Limit 12 children. 11 AUGUST, SATURDAY - 4:00-5:00 PM Puppy Dog Tales with Stanley and Rebecca - This SPCA program pairs trained dog-and-owner therapy teams with children, to grow children's literacy, self-confidence, and socio-empathic skills. Wonderful for those learning to read, or for whom extra attention in vocabulary or grammar is desired. We will have many STEM-themed books on hand! Recommended for ages 5-8. Call 415-355-5707 to reserve your spot. 17 AUGUST, FRIDAY - 3:30-4:30 PM Build-A-Thon - Build a temporary playhouse with our Big Bilder kits, raise a mighty tower of Giant Jengas, and create exotic creatures with Octoplay!
