Halloween Family Fun Event: Spooky Lane Adventures Join us as the Marion County Public Library System teams up with the United Way of Marion and Taylor Counties to bring you Spooky Lane Adventures! On Friday October 30th, from 5 pm, until the last car enters at 7:30pm, your family can drive through Morris Park for a Halloween adventure! Upon arrival, a bag will be hung from your side view mirror to collect treats. As you drive around Spooky Lane, you will encounter several fun Halloween delights with various scenes. It's all kid friendly and fun for the whole family to enjoy! Various organizations will be set up with special displays, treats, live animals, costumed characters and more to help celebrate this Halloween delight from the safety of your own car.

Haunted Library: After HoursSaturday, October 31: 8:30 pm Last year we brought you a fun Haunted Library experience walk through attraction. This year due to COVID 19, we are unable to bring it back. However, we have something even creepier in store for you. Christian Cox will come into the library after hours with a flashlight tour of the building, so you can see what all goes on Halloween night. Tune in for the Facebook LIVE event and brave the flashlight tour of the library after hours. Watch to see if you notice anything paranormal. This is a rare opportunity to be in the library after hours searching in the dark. Will we have any ghostly encounters? Watch and see...

Fall Into Reading / Season's Readings Patrons are invited to join our first ever fall and winter online reading program! You can keep track of what you and your family have been reading and participate in special activities like the "5 Little Pumpkins Scavenger Hunt."

Mannington Friends Book Sale Leaf through some great used books! Friends Book Sale is open! Mondays 2:30-5:30, Fridays 9-1 and Saturdays 9-12. Card holding members receive discounted prices and more. You can get your membership card with your donation of annual “Friends” dues while visiting the Friends Book Sale Room or the library today!

Fairmont Friends Book Sale The Book Cave is Open! The Friends of the Marion County Public Library (Fairmont) will be making appointments for 2 people per half hour to browse the book sale room.

Little Rembrandts Youth (age ten and up) are invited to join Mrs. Julie in this virtual event and learn how to transform a blank canvas into a winter wonderland. Space is limited. Facebook Live Story Time Mr. Cox and others will be sharing lots of fun stories and activities! These stories will be geared towards preschool age viewers, but are fun for all ages! Every Tuesday at 10:30 am, no sign up required.

Read for the Record Join us Thursday, October 29 on Facebook Live (10:30 am) as our staff and hundreds of others across the Mountain State simultaneously read the inspiring story of Evelyn Del Rey Is Moving Away by Meg Medina. The goal is to read to 6,000 or more children during the state-wide LIVE events!

Choco Goes to College You won't want to miss this! Join Ms. Julie on Thursday, October 8 at 10:30 am as she meets local author Casey Conaway and her animal friends! Casey will read her book Choco Goes to College to Choco the horse and to our viewers. We will also tour the On Eagles' Wings Therapeutic Horsemanship Center.
