Join us tomorrow, Tuesday, November 19 at 5 pm for our Award Ceremony and Wrap-Up Party
Thanks to a generous grant from Novelis, kids aged 10 and up at the Marion County Public Library have been working for weeks with Lego Mindstorms to create Sumo-Bots in preparation for a competition. Last week was the competition, so this week we will celebrate their accomplishments! We're so proud of all that they've learned and created!
Join us at the Marion County Public Library (Fairmont) tomorrow, Tuesday, November 19 at 5 pm to watch them receive their completion awards! We will also have a thank you award for Novelis.
What are Sumo-Bots?
Robotic sumo is a competition where two robots, known as sumo-bots, attempt to push each other out of an arena using sensors, clever programming, and innovative design. The arena for the contest is a 4-foot diameter circle. Your goal is to create a sumo-bot that can push its opponent out of the arena before being pushed out of the arena by the competing sumo-bot (information pulled from here).
