It might be cold outside, but we want to warm hearts here at the library with some special events on February 23. At 10:30 AM we will be hosting the “Count Me IN” puppet program by the Puppeteers from M.T. Pockets Theatre in Morgantown. This presentation introduces children to the importance of disability awareness and inclusion. After all, everyone wants to play, learn, have friends and be included. We hope you will join us! Lemonade, sweets and a Meet-and-Greet event will follow the puppet show. Lisa McCombs, author of I Have MS. What’s Your Super Power? will be sharing some of her personal experience of living with Multiple Sclerosis. With March being National MS Awareness Month, Lisa hopes to inspire children and adults to be heroes of heart. The day’s events will culminate with an inspirational presentation for adults at noon by this local author and former teacher. For more information, please contact Christian Cox at 304-366-1210, extension 113, or Connie VanGilder at 304-366-1210, extension 129. We hope to see you there!

An introduction to disability awareness and inclusion
Everyone wants to play, learn, have friends, and be included. The COUNT ME IN puppet program helps children understand that people with disabilities are much like they are. This age-appropriate introduction to disability awareness and inclusion is great for kids of all ages. The cast includes Gina, who is blind and uses a cane; Jay, who is deaf or hard of hearing; Sally, who has a physical disability and uses a wheelchair; and their friends, Carmen and Mitch.
