Important announcement
Glendale & Pasadena Libraries are separating lending systems

What does this mean for you?
  • It means you won't be able to check out Glendale library items with your Pasadena library card.
  • You also won't be able to use your Glendale Library card at Pasadena Libraries (and vice versa).
  • But, it means that you might get your hold items faster!
  • You can get two library cards now, one for each system if you want.
Why are we separating lending systems?
The gist of it is that we had a risk assessment performed last year, and it was determined that we could have:
  • Tighter privacy of information
  • Quicker and more nimble response to changes needed in policies, structures, and software
  • Local control of purchasing of materials

If you have more questions, see our FAQs cityofpasadena.libanswers.com/ils or read the Special Announcement Newsletter which includes a much fuller explanation.
