Are you a teen artist? Would you like your work to be featured at the Pasadena Public Library, Central location? If so, submit a few photos or a portfolio to Jane Gov at jgov@cityofpasadena.net. You may be selected to feature your work in two new display cases in Teen Central!

Meet 19 Young Adult authors as they present a series of panels and book signings. Free tote bags for the first 200 attendees and a "Book Blitz" giveaway will be towards to end of the festival. Teens: we need your opinions. Show up, discuss topics of interest to youth in the community and/or participate in the training. Great for anyone who wants to gain leadership skills, public speaking, and cares about community improvement. Youth Network meets on the first Wednesday of every month during the school year (September-May) in the Studio on 4th (next to Teen Central) at Central Library. For ages 12-18.

The Voice in My Head

Dana L. Davis’s The Voice in My Head tells the story of Indigo Phillips, a girl who’s always been known as “Violet’s twin sister”. Violet is everything she’s not: popular, pretty, and sweet-tempered. But when Violet suddenly becomes terminally ill and plans to exercise her right to die, Indigo begins to despair and even has harmful thoughts. That’s when a strange voice begins to speak inside her head, claiming to be God. The voice informs her that if she takes Violet to a rock formation in the Arizona desert, Violet will live. Somehow, Violet agrees to go- but only if their big, crazy family comes too. Throughout the whole unforgettable trip, Indigo must learn to deal with her family, her sister’s condition, and the voice in her head...
