Tuesday, May 1, 4pm Join us at the Grass Valley Library to learn about all things creepy and crawly. We will discuss all kinds of bugs and what they do in their environment. Participants will have a chance to view and learn about many different insects during this fun event. No registration is necessary. Ages 5 and up.

Coding with Dash and Dot Dash and Dot are robots that can sense, act, and think! Students use block coding on four different iPad apps to control their robots. Part of our Technology Lending Library. No registration necessary.

Wednesday, May 9, 10am Join the library for a visit to the historic Empire Mine State Park. Guided tour of the beautiful gardens and cottage, a traditional Cornish luncheon, and book discussion will be provided courtesy of the Friends of the Nevada County Libraries. Suggested reading for the outing is, “The Language of Flowers,” by Vanessa Diffenbaugh. Space is limited, all attending must register in advance.

"Tea Time" visits five well-heeled Chilean women who have met monthly for tea and pastries for 60 years, offering an intimate view of life's joys and difficulties – and the enduring power of friendship. This event is a collaboration with POV, the award-winning independent nonfiction film series on PBS. Space is limited, please register in advance.
