Thursday, March 5, 5:30 PM This talk is part of a four-part speaker series. The Library and the Nevada City Rancheria Nisenan are proud to partner on the project, “The Voice of the Nisenan: We Are Still Here.” This grant, funded by the Library Services and Technology Act and administered by the California State Library, seeks to create opportunities for the public to learn about Nisenan culture, history, and language. Other components of this project include Nisenan-language picture books and an online collection of Nisenan language, films, interactive GIS map, and more.

POV Film Screening: Quest (MH)Friday, March 13, 4:00 PM Join us for a free screening at the Madelyn Helling Library: A Panther in Africa. An intimate film capturing eight years in the life of a black family from Philadelphia. This event is a collaboration with POV, the award-winning independent nonfiction film series on PBS. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear our local expert highlight the significance and contributions of the women living and working on Jibboom Street during Truckee’s early days.
