March 25th: 6:30 PM Author Meet and Greet with Essay Contest Winners, 7:00 PM Community Author Talk at the Miners Foundry in Nevada City
 
Prompts (choose only one)
  1. How have your relationships with your family of origin formed your sense of identity?
  2. Imagine yourself as a Greek mythological figure or as a mortal that has come in contact with Greek mythological figure. Write a story from their perspective.
  3. Based on your strengths and passions in life, what type of Greek God or Creature do you think you would be?
  4. Write a fable about trying to change an unavoidable fate. 
Cash Prizes Generously Donated by Friends of the Nevada County Library.
$500 first place
$250 second place
$175 third place
 
Top five essayists will have a meet and greet with the author.

Nevada County is participating in the county-wide reading of "Circe" by Madeline Miller. The Truckee Library will kick-off the fun with a Grab 'n Go sampler of olive oils -while supplies last.  Call the library to schedule your curbside pickup of this tasty program (530) 582-7846.
