An Afternoon with Cathy

Join us as we celebrate an accomplished Nevada County local. Born in the Community Hospital, graduated from Nevada Union High, and went on to become Nevada City's FIRST woman Mayor... but there's more to Cathy than just politics. Cathy Shares with us her personal journey through the past, present and future of Nevada County. 
Slaying the Gorgon: The Power of Storytelling with Joe McHugh (MH)

A cultural historian whose multimedia presentation examines how stories are told in the modern age, Joe McHugh will present the three aspects of all storytelling: message, medium, and magic.
Family Memory Making Workshop with Anke Hass (TR)
Thursday, March 14, 5:30pm
This event is designed for families who have specific memories they want to capture with watercolors and mixed media. Truckee local artist Anke Hass coaches participants through this creative art workshop. Be prepared by bringing some family memories with you! All materials are provided. Class size is limited.
An Afternoon with Madelyn Helling (DF)

Join us for an entertaining afternoon with Madelyn Helling as she talks about an incredible woman, Doris Foley, and the library that is named for her. Come for the architecture and stay for the conversation! Refreshments served. Seating is limited.

Young Adventurers Club: Volcanoes! (GV)
Tuesday, March 5, 4pm
Get ready for an eruption of fun! Come learn about lava, tectonic plates, earthquakes, and more. All participants will get a chance to engage in some hands on learning. Come join us for this fun event.

Stay and Play (GV)
Thursdays at 10am
Calling all grandparents, nannies, aunts and uncles, and all other caregivers! Each session will feature a Storytime, snacks, and an opportunity to learn together. Once a month a guest speaker will come to discuss topics surrounding childcare and answer any questions you have. 
Tech for Kids: LEGO Mindstorms

Come build a robot and program it too! Use LEGO Mindstorms to create and build your own robot.

Come read to the Humane Society of Truckee Tahoe therapy animals and stay for fun crafts.

Come join us for a movie night! We will watching the hit film Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (rated PG13) featuring lots of dinosaurs and Chris Pratt saving the world! Snacks will be provided. Teens age 13-18. 
Comic Making Workshop (MH)

Join us for a collaborative comic-making workshop. We'll be writing and drawing a comic together. Stick figures are allowed! Ages 13-18
