We are proud to announce two financial support awards totaling nearly $10,000. The Library Advisory Board for the City of Sherwood has been awarded a Community Enhancement Program grant for $3531 through the City of Sherwood, Pride Disposal, and Metro. This grant will provide start-up costs to establish a Sherwood Public Library Foundation, a new 501(c)(3) to enrich the resources and services of the library by complimenting public funding with charitable giving. New members and donors are invited to help launch this initiative. Sherwood Public Library is also a recipient of the Public Library Association (PLA) Digital Literacy Workshop Incentive for $6000, powered by a contribution from AT&T. We are one of 200 public libraries across 45 states selected. We are partnering with the Sherwood School District SHARE Center to provide a series of digital literacy classes for adults this coming fall in English & Spanish. Funding will help reduce barriers to participation and pay Spanish-language presenter fees. Interested participants are encouraged to contact the library.
