Library Closures All libraries will have a delayed opening time of 2:00 pm on Thursday, December 13, except Duncan-Traner Community Library, which will open at its normal time of 3:00 pm, and the Verdi Community Library and the Senior Center Library, which will both be closed all day. All Washoe County Libraries will be closed Tuesday, December 25 for Christmas and Tuesday, January 1 for New Year's Day All libraries with evening hours will close at 5:00 pm on December 24 and December 31.

Use your library card for free access to Brainfuse HelpNow, an online tutoring service with help available in all subject areas and across all grade levels. Live tutors are available from 1 pm until 10 pm daily. Other resources, like test preparation, are always available.

Story Times & Early Literacy Programs
Story Times, Toddler Times, Paws 2 Read, and other early literacy programs are offered weekly at most library branches.

Full STEAM Ahead Winter Reading Program Running December 15 through January 15, the program is open to kids ages 18 and under. Registration is now open. If you participated in the 2018 Summer Reading Program, you will not need to create a new account; you can simply log in and register. After registration, participants can receive a sticker from any Washoe County Library. Participants who complete the program will receive a free book.
