A Thousand Miles of Desert and Mountains
 
In partnership with University Libraries, Washoe County Library System is offering a virtual exploration of a Special Collections and University Archives collection entitled A Thousand Miles of Desert and Mountains. The series, comprised of eight videos and corresponding podcasts and worksheets, is aimed at fourth through seventh graders but is appropriate for all ages.
 
New episodes of the series, which explores a set of diaries written by two prospectors as they traveled across Nevada in search of the next big bonanza, will be posted on Thursdays on our Facebook page, with supplemental materials made available on the prior Tuesdays.
