Historic Ranches of Western Nevada Presented by historical preservationist Holly Walton-Buchanan, this ranching history of the Carson Valley and the Truckee Meadows spans the initial importation of cattle from Spain through the Comstock boom period.

Build Your Family Tree You've taken the DNA test, now what? In this series of four classes, learn how to build your family tree to see how you are connected to your matches. Registration is required. Senior Series: Your Time is Now! Weekly informational workshops throughout May focusing on hot topics impacting seniors throughout the community. The presenters this month include District Attorney Chris Hicks and investigator Michelle Bays, who will discuss how the DA's office can assist seniors, and Sparks Fire Department Inspector James Recob, who will discuss fire and fall prevention.

Computer Classes Sparks Library's ongoing computer classes provide introductions to various computer programs and actions. Wednesdays and Fridays 1-3 pm. Registration is required. Your Local United Way Wants to Hear From You United Way of Northern Nevada and the Sierra would like you to complete its 2019 community survey. Part of its 2019 Community Listening process, the survey asks community members what they consider the most pressing issues in their communities, and solicits feedback on UWNNS' signature issue: early childhood literacy. The makerspace at the Downtown Reno Library is open for business Thursdays, 3-5:45 pm. A different resource will be featured each week. We make every effort to ensure the following resources are available every Thursday: leather crafting, button machines, and vinyl cutter.
