Our Summer Reading Adventure is well underway. And while we can't host events at our branches this year, we have been keeping busy with virtual events, including Wild Wednesdays, this week's Aria 51 concert, and others in conjunction with the Summer Reading Adventure.

Local Artists that combine classical and folk instruments with singing to create a unique approach to a variety of musical styles. Experience the sounds of cello, classical guitar, ukulele.

Celebrate Juneteenth 
 
Washoe County Library will be offering special Juneteenth story times that will premiere today at 11 am and 4 pm, and will be available for on-demand viewing, for members of our Virtual Story Time group.

Also, of the National Civil Rights Museum’s Small But Mighty Storytime will have something special. Dory Lerner will read Juneteenth for Mazie by Floyd Cooper. In this beautifully written and illustrated story, young Mazie learns about Juneteenth, her ancestors’ triumph over slavery.

Holds Pickup
 
We are now offering grab-and-go and drive up hold services at several library locations. Place a hold using the online catalog, wait to be notified for pick-up, go to your open branch, and check out your holds. 
 
No other services will be provided at these branches and browsing will not be allowed.

In response to increasing demand for our online offerings, we have created an easy new way for you to access our digital resources.
 
If you do not have a Washoe County Library account (or if you have misplaced your card), you can now visit our website and quickly acquire a digital library card, which you can use to check out ebooks and audiobooks, take online courses, and much more.

We love donations. But during this temporary closure, Washoe County Library and the Friends of Washoe County Library will be unable to accept them.
 
Please hold on to any items you would like to donate until Washoe County Libraries reopen. Do not leave donations at library branches.
