Google earth and Genealogy

The North Collin County Genealogical Society invites you to their monthly meeting. The Special Guest Speaker is Mr. Mike McKee. Learn how to use Google Earth to tell your ancestor's journey to the present. Mr. McKee will show how to use the free Google Earth program to track the migration of your ancestors and how to place images and documents into a virtual tour that can be shared on websites, blogs or as a presentation at your next family reunion. This will be a wonderful program for anyone who is trying to organize their records for presentation and for those who just want to make their family histories more visually interesting. This is a FREE event that is open to all.

Contains biographies of nine notable Native Americans including Shabni, (mixed Ottawa and French blood) who fought for the British as an aid to Tecumseh in the War of 1812; Makesit, a Potawatomi leader involved in treaties signed with the United States which ceded the homeland of his band; Captain Billy Caldwell, son of a Mohawk woman and an Irish soldier in the British army; Brave Bear, a young Lakota Sioux tried and executed for murder; Starr Wilkenson, of mixed Cherokee and African blood, whose escapades led him to Idaho and Oregon; Totuya or Maria Lebrado, the grand-daughter of the last great leader of the Yosemite; White Cloud, a Winnebago mystic; and Wabansi, a Potawatomi warrior chief.
