Each essay includes: Name by which the subject is best known, with pronunciation guidelines as needed; Description of each women's contributions or occupations; Synopsis of the individual's historical or social importance; Birth, death dates, and locations as available; Alternative identifications such as alternative spellings, pseudonyms, and nicknames; and Areas of achievement with which the profiled woman is most closely identified.
