Sharpie Shoes (Ages 12-18) Wouldn’t it be fun if your shoes could reflect your personality? Bring your own pair of canvas shoes and your creativity and the library will provide rest. Come, get crafty with us and create some fancy footwear! Shoes not provided. Registration is required.

Mardi Gras Bead Art (Ages 12+) Ever wonder what to do with all those left over Mardi Gras beads? Learn how to make a mosaic using a few simple materials and Mardi Gras beads. We will provide all materials, but you are welcome to bring any beads you wish to get rid of. Registration is required.

Playing with Food (Ages 8+) If you’ve always enjoyed playing with your food, this hands-on program is for you. February is Bake for Family Fun Month, so gather your family and head to your local Library, where Angela and Fran from Tripp’s Tasty Temptations will demonstrate basic decorating techniques for cakes and cookies. Everyone will decorate (and eat) delicious cookies. After class, you can check out our culinary kits, cookbooks, and other resources to bake up some beautiful family memories of your own.Registration is required.

Music Dreams An American Story (Ages 18+) Celebrate Black History Month at the Denham Springs–Walker Branch Library with Louisiana musician/songwriter/music entrepreneur Henry Turner Jr. Join us as we view the documentary Music Dreams, An American Story, which highlights the Capital City’s vibrant music scene over the past 40 years.
