June Happenings at the Library For Kids June 9, 10:30-11:30 AM Ages 3-11 with adult. Drop-in. Make new friends while using your imagination! Bring your Magic or Yu-Gi-Oh! decks and compete in a tournament ladder. Booster packs for the winner and drawing prizes! Grades 6-12 Make awesome Eggo creations. For Adults Song CircleJune 4, 2018, 6:30 PM-8:00 PM Join other singers, musicians and music-lovers of all levels in a supportive and informal environment to share songs and music. We sing pop and folk songs from the 60s and 70s, with a few traditional numbers thrown in. If you have a favorite song you want to sing, please bring 20 photocopies with lyrics and chords to share. Have fun singing with others! All ages are welcome. Story Slam: Travel EditionJune 14, 2018, 7:00 PM-8:30 PM What in the world?! Have a travel story to share? Want to hear others' stories of travel, from adventure to comedy to mishap? The Beaverton City Library Story Slam is a friendly, open-mic storytelling competition. Potential storytellers will put their names in a hat; names will be picked from the hat and those chosen will take to the stage to tell their true, personal, 5- to 8-minute story. Come put your name in the hat to tell a story or just to enjoy the show! Stories must be told from memory. The winner receives a $10 gift certificate to The Book Corner. This program is free and open to the public; recommended for ages 13 and up. Potential storytellers should arrive 15 minutes early to speak with the event host about their planned story. Entrepreneur Clinic June 20, 2018, 2:00 PM-4:00 PM Whether you are starting or growing a business, there are local assistance organizations at this monthly event that can help you succeed. Maybe you are looking for financial help, market research, counseling on the viability of a business idea, or just advice on what steps to take. Meet community partners such as SCORE and Impact Beaverton, providers of free business consulting. Free and open to the public; no registration required. BYOC (Bring Your Own Craft) Night June 21, 2018, 6:30 PM-8:00 PM Do you whittle? Knit? Color? Scrapbook? Sketch? Join us for Bring Your Own Craft Night to work on these projects and more.
