SUMMER READING - LAST CHANCE!Although sign-ups have ended, kids and teens who have completed their "A Universe of Stories" reading log can claim their prizes through Sunday, August 18. Adults can submit their "Read for Bees" hours read through Saturday, August 31. Thanks to an additional donation, adult readers can now earn up to 20 beehives this summer!
Welcoming Week
National Welcoming Week is an annual series of events designed to bring together immigrants, refugees, and U.S.-born residents to raise awareness of the benefits of welcoming everyone. The week’s activities celebrate the contributions of newcomers and provide opportunities to build cross-cultural relationships and understanding. Beaverton’s fifth annual celebration includes events for all ages at the library, from a Live Storytelling Showcase (ages 13 & up) to Make Oaxacan Foil Animals (grades K-3).
Book & Media Sale
Oct. 9-13
Join the New Friends of the Beaverton City Library for their annual fall sale at the main library. A Members-only Night kicks off the sale, Wednesday evening, Oct. 9. Membership will be available at the door. The sale continues Thursday, Oct. 10 through Sunday, Oct. 13, during library hours. On the last day of the sale, everything is close-out sale priced!
Family Resource Fair
Saturday, Oct. 19 | 10 AM - 2 PM
Meet with non-profit organizations that offer free and low-cost services to families. We'll have a raffle, and kids get a free book! Families with children ages 10 and under.
Teen Art Show Wednesday, Nov. 6 - Sunday, Nov. 10 Check out art by local teens and cast your vote for the People's Choice Awards! Join us for the Opening Reception on Wednesday, Nov. 6, 4-5 p.m.

Booking Ahead
Are you participating in our year-long reading program? Pick up a Booking Ahead passport at the library and read books that fit the themes described for each month, and you'll be entered in monthly prize drawings, with a grand prize drawing at the end of the year. August: Read a book that has alternating narrators; September:Celebrate your freedom to read - read whatever book you want; October:Read a book with a female main character; November: Celebrate Native American Heritage Month - read a book by a Native American author or a book about the Native American experience.
