Message from Halsted Bernard, Director of Library Services The pandemic has given us a unique opportunity to evaluate and innovate our services. In June, we created Library Takeout to offer you contactless outdoor pickup of your holds and returns of your materials. And just last week we added an outdoor walk-up service desk to give you library help with no appointment needed. We now offer a range of online events that include early literacy fun for families, playful and educational programs for tweens and teens, and interactive discussions about racial justice. I'm constantly in awe of how our Tigard Public Library staff has translated their creativity, expertise, and dedication into developing these new methods to serve you. And all this while adhering to brand-new health and safety guidelines! I hope that these reinvented library services are meeting your library needs. Your response has been overwhelmingly positive, and we are grateful once more for the support of our Tigard community. Be well, stay safe, and thank you. In health and hope, Halsted Bernard Director of Library Services

Walk-Up Desk added to Library Takeout Service We are now offering an outdoor walk-up service desk as part of our library takeout services. At the desk, we will be able to answer your library questions, help you with print jobs, and browse the shelves to check out library items for you. The service desk is open on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 10:30am-2:30pm, and on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:30-5:30pm. While at the service desk, please remember to wear a face covering, and maintain 6 feet of distance from library staff.

Live & Virtual Programs in August! Play outside! Expand your mind! Enjoy the end of summer with a library program. Bring the family for a stroll by the library on the Fanno Creek Trail, and read a picture book page by page as you go. Pick up a bag of your own sidewalk chalk, and draw us a picture, based on a prompt! Teens, get answers about preparing for college with experts from the Huntington Learning Center. Adults, pick up supplies from our outdoor service desk, and follow along as you craft your own mini cactus. Join the conversation in our Racial Unity book group, and wrap up the summer by participating in a rousing Facebook Live family game show.
