Thursday, June 25 | 6-7:30 PM Burgess Community Room | Adults Learn about the centuries-old tradition of haiku and how it can connect us more deeply with nature from Oregon Master Naturalist Natalie DaSilva. She’ll explore the history and technique of the art form, share some examples, and give you the opportunity to try it yourself. Beginners welcome and encouraged!

Saturday, June 20 | 6-7:30 PM Cook Family Park Shelter 2 This annual City event celebrates the end of slavery in the United States, uplifts Black culture, and brings together community – ALL are welcome to gather and have a good time! Featured speakers and performers include Rose City Pep Academy, Miss Black Oregon, and gospel singer Khalil. Food and beverage provided by PlantBoys PDX and It’s a Vibe Catering. Tigard Public Library will provide books and activities, plus a raffle and more! Volunteers needed – sign up online.

We’re thrilled to provide more information about One Big Fourth – our local 4th of July celebration. The day starts in King City with their Annual Walk & Roll, continues with Tigard’s Middle of Millen Drive Parade, and concludes with activities and fireworks at the City’s 4th of July Celebration at Tigard High School. Celebrate America’s 250th anniversary with friends, family, and fun! The City event’s activities start at 6pm with the Tualatin Valley Community Band, kids’ games, and food trucks, ending with fireworks around 10pm. Additional viewing at Cook Family Park. Volunteers and more food vendors sought – submit interest on event website.
