January 2020
Community Library Supervisor
 Hello West Slope community!

I love the opportunity at the start of any new year to reflect on accomplishments and set goals. I am very proud of the library team and volunteers who give so much to make this library a wonderful place in the community. In 2019 we've had our highest attended program ever, upgraded all our public computers, and had over 7,000 hours of volunteer service.

One of our goals for the upcoming year will be to focus on facilities improvements for our library. We will be working with Washington County to acquire new furniture for our public areas and add some fresh paint throughout our library.

Another goal of mine is to get to know more people in the community. February 10 the Friends of the Library will be hosting a gathering here at the library for us to meet. Come by and say hello, enjoy some light refreshments, and share your ideas. Save the date, details to come.

Happy New Year and thank you for being a part of our wonderful library community.

 Until next time,
Kristen

Planning for West Slope's Water Future

Saturday, January 25, 2-3pm

Logo of West Slope Water District
Join the West Slope Water District to learn more about long-term water source options for our community!

The District receives all our water through a contract with the City of Portland. The 20-year contract expires in 2026. The District is evaluating options for a future water supply, which could include a new and different (not Bull Run) regional water supply such as purchasing water from the Tualatin Valley Water District (Willamette River).

While our current contract expires in 2026, the District needs to decide on a course of action by June 2021. This event is part of a series of information sessions this fall and winter to describe our current water supplies, options for future water supplies, and talk about questions you might have. We want your input on the future of West Slope water.
