Last Tuesday Game Night Tuesday, November 26, 6:00pm - 8:00pm Featured game demo at 6:00pm In November, our featured game is the award-winning tile-drafting game for 2-4 players, Azul. As Thea Hart works to fill in the gaps in our collection of Spiel des Jahres-winning games, Azul is the 2018 winner and is one that was added to the collection in November. Copies available from the Hillsboro and Cedar Mill Libraries have had perpetual holds lists, so hopefully our two copies will make it easier to check out! In the game Azul, players take turns drafting colored tiles from suppliers to their player board. Later in the round, players score points based on how they've placed their tiles to decorate the palace. Extra points are scored for specific patterns and completing sets; wasted supplies harm the player's score. The player with the most points at the end of the game wins.

Last Tuesday Game Night Tuesday, February 25, 6:00pm - 8:00pm Featured game demo at 6:00pm In February, our featured game is the award-winning deck-building strategy game for 2-4 players, Dominion. As Thea Hart works to fill in the gaps in our collection of Spiel des Jahres-winning games, Dominion is the 2009 winner and is one that was added to the collection in November. In the game Dominion, each player starts with an identical, very small deck of cards. In the center of the table is a selection of other cards the players can "buy" as they can afford them. Through their selection of cards to buy, and how they play their hands as they draw them, the players construct their deck on the fly, striving for the most efficient path to the precious victory points by game end.

Last Tuesday Game Night Tuesday, March 31, 6:00pm - 8:00pm Featured game demo at 6:00pm In March, our featured game is the award-winning tile-placing game for 2-5 players, Zooloretto. As Thea Hart works to fill in the gaps in our collection of Spiel des Jahres-winning games, Zooloretto is the 2007 winner and is one that was added to the collection in November. In the game Zooloretto, each player uses small, large, wild, and exotic animals and their young to try to attract as many visitors as possible to their zoo – but be careful! The zoo must be carefully planned as before you know it, you might have too many animals and no more room for them. That brings minus points! Luckily, your zoo can expand. A zoo of a family game in which less is sometimes more...
