It's not too late! Sign up for summer reading by July 31 As always, the program is open to all children from birth through high school. After that, they graduate to our Adult Summer Reading Program. Summer reading is for everyone! The theme this year is "A Universe of Stories." For Kids Signing up the kids? Easy peasy lemon squeezy! There’s just one sign-up notebook and one reading record regardless of age or reading level. And like last year, we will be using our Ready to Read Grant money to give every child who signs up a free paperback when they sign up for the program and when they finish! For Adults Summer reading programs are an important way for kids to keep learning all summer long. Adults can model good reading behavior for the kids in their lives or they can push themselves to discover a new author or read more than usual. Community members can sign up in the library and receive the materials needed to participate in our West Slope Adult Summer Reading Challenge for a chance to win prizes and Read for a Cause to log time spent reading on behalf of a worthy community organization: Start Making a Reader Today (SMART), Community Warehouse, or the Talking Book and Braille Library. Note: Adults, if you sign up online, please come into the library to pick up West Slope's local Adult Summer Reading Challenge and Read for a Cause materials. Thanks! |

We have many new and award-winning games. New this month! Board games for ages 7 and younger are on display near the kids movies. We check out Chromebooks The library seeks to increase the community's access to technology, information, and technology instruction. Thanks to funding from the Friends of West Slope Library, the library offers Chromebooks as an additional option for visitors who want to access the Internet. Chromebooks may be borrowed by those ages 10 years old and older while the library is open and must stay in the library building. You may use a Chromebook for a longer Internet session so long as there isn't a waiting list to use one. Check a Chromebook out from one of our staff members at the front desk. |

Donate Did you know that you can donate gently used books to the Friends book sale? Check out our donation guidelines. Thank you for bearing with us during our brief hiatus when we were unable to accept donations because of a shortage of book sale volunteers! The Friends group is a non-profit that provides funding to the library for materials, furniture, and library events. |
