Hey! Where'd that book go?!?

You may remember that we chose Jennifer Jacobs' Do You Really Need That Pill? for April's Healthy, Wealthy, and Wise issue. Since we finalized and sent out that Advance List, the pub date has been pushed back -- to June! Naturally, that book will not be appearing on the April newsletter, since it's not going to be on your shelves. Instead, look for it to appear (again) on the August Advance List and the corresponding newsletter.

So what's an editor to do?
You've got two options:
  1. Do nothing. Leave the newsletter as is. There are still four books in the recent release section, so no harm, no foul.

  2. Add a different recent release. Depending on your community, we'd recommend Rachel Simmons' Enough As She Is (about empowering girls), Jason Hanson's Survive Like a Spy (pretty much what it sounds like), or Daphne De Marneffe's The Rough Patch (advice for married folks or those living together). My own favorite is the personal finance book Meet the Frugalwoods, from the Frugalwoods blog, but as of right now it has not been reviewed (so -- insider info here -- it wasn't an option for us to pick in the first place).

How often does this happen?
Frankly, not that often (the last time was 2016). We're alert for it, but when pub dates change, it's not usually quite this dramatic.

However, it is a disruption and it complicates things a hair, so it's not our favorite thing. Our favorite thing is reading the books, not having them pushed out of reach!
