he leadership topic will focus on incorporating romance novels into any book club. Please note: Sonali will be joining us for the leadership topic! Sonali is a delightful speaker, passionate about romance novels, and an excellent advocate for diverse authorship in all publishing. In addition to the notes, ARRT will also be providing a booklist of discussable romance novels! If you have discussable romance titles, bring them and we will add them to the list to share with everyone.

My Favorite Thing Is Monsters - Book one
by Emil Ferris
 
Filled with B-horror movie and pulp monster iconography, the diary of ten-year-old Karen Reyes records her investigation into the murder of her upstairs neighbor Anka Silverberg, a Holocaust survivor.
 
Will be held at Northbrook Public Library on Thursday, August 9th from 2:00-4:00, more details to come. 
 
The Leavers : A Novel
by Lisa Ko
 
An award-winning debut novel follows the experiences of a Chinese youth who when his undocumented worker mother fails to return home is adopted by a family that attempts to make him over as an American teen while he struggles to reconcile his new life with memories of the family he left behind.
 
Will be held at Stickney-Forest View Public Library District on Wednesday, November 7th from 2:00-4:00, more details to come.
