The Sound of Things Falling
by Juan Gabriel Vásquez
This was an interesting read from this Colombian author. The story is set in the city of Bogota where a law professor recovers from a serious attack. He tries to find meaning behind it, and so the story leads to this journey of finding meaning within moments in our lives and the cost of searching for it.

The No-Waste Vegetable Cookbook: Recipes and Techniques for Whole Plant Cooking
by Linda Ly
In my quest to cut down on eating meat but not be a vegetarian, I came across this cookbook. Easy to read, lots of pictures and many helpful hints. Just try the Gruyere Grilled Cheese and the Tomato Soup recipes. Yum! It’s not the cheese from the yellow box or the tomato soup from the red labeled soup can. Lots of root vegetable recipes and some seafood recipes. I look forward to making something new each time I open the book.

The Alchemist
by Paulo Coelho
This book helps me to switch my focus from external signals and realize everything I want to do can be accomplished by applying myself.

V for Vendetta
by Alan Moore
This graphic novel was written in 1982 and placed in a dystopian England in 1997. Vigilantism is the only thing that can save the fascist-run government and the corrupt politicians involved.
