As our City begins to reopen through a phased approach, our library team members have been busy behind-the-scenes -- with our masks and social distancing in place -- by doing inventory, enhancing our Digital Library, modifying services, and planning for an eventual reopening of the buildings. In the meantime, we'd like to give a quick update on how this impacts our service to you in the near future.
Drive-Through Book Drops
Our drive-through book drops are now open at both libraries! Feel free to return your materials while you stay safely in your car. Please do not bring your materials up to the entrance, leave them on the premises or hand them to a staff member in the parking lot.
Can't get to the library yet? Don't worry, all fines will remain suspended until the library buildings reopen to the public.
Please note that, for the safety of our patrons, all returned materials will be stored for three days before they are checked in, so don't be concerned if you check your online account and see that your items are still checked out to you.
Curbside Pick-Up Service
Starting on Tuesday, May 26, we will begin curbside pick-up service so you can get new books, DVDs and other library materials that you've placed on hold. How does this work?
Log in to your account at bocalibrary.org and place a hold on the items you'd like to reserve.
You can also call the library at 561-393-7852 and ask us to place holds for you.
When your items are ready, you'll be notified by text or email, depending on what type of notifications you signed up for when you got your library card.
Come to the library where you requested the pick-up between 9:00am and 5:00pm, Monday-Saturday, and look for the pick-up area. The Downtown Library pick-up area will be on the east side near the staff entrance. The Spanish River Library pick-up area will be on the east side near the drive-through book drop.
Park at a numbered sign that tells you to give us a call and let us know that you're here. A team member will verify your account and parking spot on the phone.
A library team member in a mask and gloves will bring your items out to your car. Please have the trunk of your car open to receive your materials.
