Jane & Tea Virtual Book Club Thursday, July 16, 10 a.m. The Jane & Tea Book Club meets every third Thursday of the month to discuss the pick of the month and enjoy tea, snacks and all things Jane Austen. We read original works, associated biographies, and other nonfiction, as well as Austen read-alikes. A relaxed and open group for those who love Jane.

Lewisville Reading Challenge Need a project to keep you busy while you are social distancing? Participate in the Lewisville Branch Library's Reading Challenge. Here's how it works: Your library challenges you to read a variety of books throughout the year. Complete the reading challenge (print form below), which encourages readers to step into a wide variety of stories and genres. When you finish, please submit your form to the Lewisville Branch Library by Friday, Dec. 11, 2020 to be in the drawing for a $25 Barnes & Noble gift card. Good Luck!

Summer Reading: Imagine Your Story June 5 - July 31 Join us throughout the summer for virtual Summer Reading programs and activities. We'll kick off Summer Reading with a virtual concert with Big Bang Boom, which will be available on our website. Virtual StoryTime Tuesdays at 2 p.m. Join us for stories, rhymes, songs and activities designed to improve early literacy. Recommended for children ages 2 - 5 years and their caregivers, but all ages are welcome. Registration required.
You will be emailed a link and password to attend the Zoom meeting 1 day before the program starts. If you do not have a webcam or microphone, you may still attend.

2020-21 Battle of the Books The Lewisville Branch has added the titles for the 2020-21 Battle of Books school year to our catalog! Battle of the Books is a quiz bowl style competition sponsored by The North Carolina School Library Media Association (NCSLMA). Students across the state read books from a list selected by NCSLMA. Schools form teams to answer questions about the books. Interested? Ask your school if they have a team. Find out more about the Elementary School Battle of the Books here. Mad Hatter's Virtual Book Club for Teens
Monday, July 20, 3 p.m.
The Mad Hatter's Book Club meets virtually via Zoom. The participants (ages 12-18) choose a topic (chosen at the meeting the month before) and we all research whatever we want related to that topic. We could read fiction or nonfiction books, watch movies, read news articles, etc. We then discuss what we found out at our meeting. There is no pressure to speak. Be sure to wear a funny hat if you have one!
