The Forest Grove City Library was officially established in 1908 when its city approved a tax to support a public library, the first in Washington County, and was initially housed in a stationery store! Forest Grove City Library will be celebrating its 110th anniversary this October with a new memorial garden dedicated to longtime supporter Dick Ginsburg, a special author reception with Willy Vlautin, a birthday party, and more!

"Alan Lightman is both an astrophysicist and a novelist, and here he speculates movingly with both a scientist’s and a humanist’s insight on the nature of the cosmos and the divine. He explores the ways of knowing from a scientific and religious point of view and speculates widely on whether faith can be reconciled with the relativism and impermanence of science. Conclusions are few, but the journey is breathtaking." - Jim J., Forest Grove City Library

"A retelling of Pride and Prejudice with a Muslim cast and set in Toronto. Ayesha is resistant to the idea of an arranged marriage. Then she meets Khalid who annoys her with his conservative values and judgmental attitude. There’s no way she would ever give him a moment’s romantic thought, right? Recommend for fans of The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang." - Ariel Y., Forest Grove City Library
|
"From the beginning of NASA to the dueling space accomplishments of the Soviets and the U.S. (of which the Soviets often had the upper hand), to the selection and profiles of astronauts for each Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo mission, we experience the full range of human technology and emotion as the Sixties Apollo project inexorably brought us closer to the moon." - Jim J., Forest Grove City Library
