Omaha Beach Memorial
I recently had the chance to check out the
National WWII Museum
in New Orleans, which is
hosting many events
to commemorate the 75th anniversary of D-Day on June 6th (it also has a
permanent D-Day exhibit
visitors can explore).
Museums aren't the only institutions getting in on the action -- the Library of Congress just unveiled a
new interactive online exhibit
, and Steven Spielberg's
Saving Private Ryan
will return to U.S. movie theaters
for two days of special screenings.
Whether or not your library is planning to mark the occasion, be sure to visit the
D-Day anniversary website
for a comprehensive list of events -- maybe one is happening near you!
Until next time,
Kaitlin
