The crimes in her novels and the reasons behind them were complex enough to keep my attention -- without being too gruesome. And from there, my reading expanded in all directions. I would pick up a cozy then read something a little grittier. From humorous to hardboiled and everything in between, there is a mystery for every reader's taste out there.
