The Library is very excited to announce their plans for adding a quiet study room. Thanks to the City of Sioux Center's Community Foundation Board and their generosity in awarding us a grant of $5,000, we will now have the funds available for this purpose!
The mission of the Sioux Center Public Library is to fuel Sioux Center's passion for reading, personal growth and learning. Our Library Board and Director have five main goals: 1) Maintain, develop & promote our physical and digital collections. 2) Provide relevant and dynamic programming for all ages that inspires curiosity & supports individual growth. 3) Provide & promote a welcoming facility & a staff that is patron focused 4) Offer relevant technology to meet the needs of our community. 5) Foster an organizational culture of collaboration & innovation.
We try hard to listen to our patrons when suggestions are made to better the library. This idea of a quiet study room has been brought to our attention numerous times and we are very excited that we will now be able to offer that to our patrons! Due to the limited number of kids that use our current game room, we have decided that we can transform this room into the study room, which will consist of a power table, smart tv, and couch/chairs. This room will be available to all - business men/women who need to do conference calls or online meetings, students who are looking for a quiet place to study and need the hookups available for their computers or phones, book clubs and/or Bible study groups.
We hope to have this project completed by the end of summer. It is our goal that when this project is completed we will once again be able to better serve our Sioux Center community and continue with the mission of the Sioux Center Public Library!
