Winter Weather Closing Information Yes, it's that time of year again! As we get ready to approach winter and all the weather that comes with it, we wanted to give you all a reminder about our inclement weather policy. There may be times when the library needs to delay opening, close early, or close entirely for the safety of staff and patrons. We keep our social media and website up to date with our schedule, as well as changing our phone message to reflect our changed schedule for the day. Please be mindful that although we do monitor what the Fallsburg Central School District is doing for school days, we do NOT always follow their closings. If you are unsure, PLEASE call 845-436-6067 before venturing out! Happy Winter!

What We've Been Up To The Fall seems to have flown by and we can't believe Winter is just around the corner! This fall you may have seen us out and about at different community events including the Open House at B.C.E.S., the Color Run held at Fallsburg Jr./Sr. High School, and the Safe Trick or Treat held at B.C.E.S. Next time you see us out be sure to stop and say 'hi'! Did you know that the Library has a monthly column in The Hurleyville Sentinel that gives information about the library as well as highlights some of the programs we have coming up that month? Did you know that The Hurleyville Sentinel is FREE and can be picked up every month in the Library or around different locations in Hurleyville? Be sure to check it out today! We have also been sharing a column in the Sullivan County Democrat with other Sullivan County libraries. Our column is called 'Director's Corner' and is featured every other Tuesday. You can read about important issues facing libraries as a whole, as well as learn about individual libraries in the County. It's a great way to learn more about all of the wonderful things libraries have to offer! |

Nightblind : A Thriller by Ragnar Jonasson Ari Thor Arason is a local policeman who has an uneasy relationship with the villagers in an idyllically quiet fishing village in Northern Iceland―where no one locks their doors. The peace of this close-knit community is shattered by a murder. One of Ari’s colleagues is gunned down at point-blank range in the dead of night in a deserted house. With a killer on the loose and the dark Arctic waters closing in, it falls to Ari Thor to piece together a puzzle that involves a new mayor and a psychiatric ward in Reykjavik. It becomes all too clear that tragic events from the past are weaving a sinister spell that may threaten them all. *Look for this title December 5, 2017*

An American marriage by Tayari JonesNewlyweds Celestial and Roy are the embodiment of both the American Dream and the New South. He is a young executive, and she is an artist on the brink of an exciting career. But as they settle into the routine of their life together, they are ripped apart by circumstances neither could have imagined. Roy is arrested and sentenced to twelve years for a crime Celestial knows he didn’t commit. Though fiercely independent, Celestial finds herself bereft and unmoored, taking comfort in Andre, her childhood friend, and best man at their wedding. As Roy’s time in prison passes, she is unable to hold on to the love that has been her center. After five years, Roy’s conviction is suddenly overturned, and he returns to Atlanta ready to resume their life together. This stirring love story is a profoundly insightful look into the hearts and minds of three people who are at once bound and separated by forces beyond their control. An American Marriage is a masterpiece of storytelling, an intimate look deep into the souls of people who must reckon with the past while moving forward--with hope and pain--into the future. *Look for this title February 6, 2018*
