The Palisades Free Library Hosts its first Winterfest Celebration
On Saturday, December 4th The Palisades Free Library hosted its first Winterfest celebration in honor of the publication of the 4th edition of the community cookbook, Pots & Pans in Palisades. Three hundred people came to shop from vendors selling holiday and seasonal merchandise. Teen volunteers helped with games, crafts and stories for children. The cookbook was compiled over the pandemic with contributions from 100 community members who shared recipes, photographs and stories about Palisades.


RCLS and Member Libraries Met with Senator Elijah Reichlin-Melnick
On Monday, December 13th, RCLS and member libraries met with New York Senator Elijah Reichlin-Melnick to discuss current initiatives and the state of libraries. Thank you for being a library champion, Senator Reichlin-Melnick!
Universal Letter Writing Week  January 9th-15th
Universal Letter Writing Week is celebrated the second full week of every January, and is a seven day writing challenge. Use this week to hand write letters and reconnected with family members, old friends, neighbors, or anyone special in your life. For more information click here.

Let's Give a Warm Welcome to RCLS's Newest Employee
  
Kelsey Milner recently joined RCLS as a part-time cataloger. In this role she will be creating original catalog records for materials lacking pre-existing records, such as foreign language items, self-published materials, and local history items. She also works for Southeastern NY Library Resources Council as the Resource Sharing and Cataloging Librarian. When not wrangling metadata, Kelsey enjoys reading, exploring the Hudson Valley, and playing guitar.
