Camp Nanowrimo Wed., April 1 @ 6:30 p.m., Kickoff Party Mon., April 6, 13, 20, 27 @ 6:00 p.m., Write-Ins Sanchez Library Want to write but can't find the time or incentive to do so? Take the Camp National Novel Writing Month (NANOWRIMO) challenge: 10,000+ words in 30 days. You can write a book, screenplay, graphic novel script, collection of short stories, non-fiction, or poetry collection. Bring your inspiration and the writing method of your choice. Save the date for the After Party, Monday, May 4 @ 6:00 p.m.

Charged Particles: Jazz at the Library Friday, April 3 @ 7:00 p.m. Sharp Park Library Charged Particles has a repertoire that blends jazz styles with elements from Latin music, classical music, funk, and more. The group's original compositions are mixtures of elaborate orchestration and opportunities for creative improvised solos. The trio brings a similar approach to playing arrangements by other jazz artists, including favorites by Cole Porter, Duke Ellington, Richard Rogers, and other composers of America's most popular songs from decades ago, each played with a new twist.

Month of the Young Child Sanchez Library Vered: A Music Concert for Kids Saturday, April 4 @ 10:00 a.m. Award-winning children's musician Vered will be performing to kick off the Month of the Young Child. Come rock out with your children to her catchy tunes. For families with children 5 years and under. Baby Yoga Monday, April 6 @ 1:00 p.m. Join yoga teacher, Leyna Roget, for a yoga adventure. Caregivers are encouraged to apply the yogic philosophy of connection by supporting their little one's movements, honoring how their child learns yoga, and maintaining a relationship to one's own breathing. Space is limited, so register today. Infants to age 2.

Make It Wednesday, April 8 @ 3:30 p.m. Sharp Park Library Projects in science, electronics and do-it-yourself crafts. For ages 8 and up/teens. Registration required; register once and you're able to attend the next session as well (May 13). Materials will be provided. Generously funded by the Pacifica Friends of the Library.

SAT Testing Sharp Park Library Practice SAT Test Saturday, April 11 @ 11:00 a.m. SAT Review/Strategy Session Wednesday, April 22 @ 6:30 p.m. (Pizza @ 6:00 p.m.) We are offering a free Practice SAT Test and Review/Strategy Session from Kaplan. A fully proctored Practice SAT Test (approximately 4 hours) will show students what to expect in a test-like environment. Students will receive a comprehensive analysis of their performance at the SAT Review/Strategy Session, detailing individual strengths and weaknesses. Registration is required.

Get Fit @ the Library Tuesdays, April 14, 21, 28 & May 12 @ 6:30 p.m. Sanchez LibraryThe first of a series of programs promoting healthy living. In partnership with Fresh Approach, we are offering the following programs: April 14: Selecting and Storing Fresh Produce April 21: How to Eat Healthy on a Budget April 28: Processed vs. Unprocessed Foods; Sugar (added sugars, naturally occurring, and artificial sweeteners) May 12: Eating the Rainbow Receive a $5 voucher at each program to spend at the Coastside Farmer's Market. Attend at least three programs and you will also be eligible to win a "Kitchen in a Box" kit.

Family Movie Night, Disney Nature: Bears Saturday, April 18 @ 7:00 p.m. Sanchez Library A documentary that follows an Alaskan bear family as its young cubs are taught life's most important lessons. Rated G. 77 minutes. Popcorn, refreshments and a craft project will be provided.

High Style: The Brooklyn Museum Costume Collection Docent Lecture Sunday, April 19 @ 2:00 p.m. Sanchez Library This docent lecture explores the evolution of fashion from 1910 to 1980 on exhibit at the Legion of Honor from March 14-July 19. These fashions reflect the nation’s tastes and transformations over the course of the 20th century. The exhibit at the Legion of Honor features more than 60 stunning costumes, 30 costume accessories, and an array of related fashion sketches from the Brooklyn Museum Costume Collection.

Paws for Tales Monday, April 27 @ 4:00 p.m. Sanchez Library Children can improve their reading skills by reading to a trained therapy dog. Pet Assisted Therapy teams and their handlers are from the Peninsula Humane Society & the SPCA’s Paws for Tales program. A signed release form is required each time a child comes to read. Please make sure a parent or guardian accompanies the child. Ages 5-12
