Firefighter Storytime Tuesday, January 13 @ 10:30 a.m. Sharp Park Library Join us for a special storytime with local firefighters stopping by to read stories.

Make It Wednesday, January 14 @ 3:30 Sharp Park Library Projects in science, electronics and do-it-yourself crafts. For ages 8 and up/teens. Registration required; register once and attend all sessions (Jan. 14, Feb. 11, Mar. 11, Apr. 8 & May 13). Materials will be provided. Generously funded by the Pacifica Friends of the Library.

Vanishing of the Bees Friday, January 23 @ 7:00 p.m. Sharp Park Library Documentary movie screening followed by speaker and discussion. This film takes an investigative look at the implications of the worldwide disappearance of the honeybee. It examines our current agricultural landscape and celebrates the ancient and sacred connection between man and the honeybee. It is a dramatic tale of science and mystery. Doors open @ 6:30 p.m.

Family Movie Night: The Boxtrolls Saturday, January 24 @ 7:00 p.m. Sanchez Library A young orphaned boy raised by underground cave-dwelling trash collectors tries to save his friends from an evil exterminator. Based on the children's novel Here Be Monsters by Alan Snow. Rated PG. 96 min. Crafts, refreshments and it's free! Doors open at 7:00 p.m. and movie starts at 7:15 p.m.

Paws for Tales Monday, January 26 @ 4:00 p.m. Sanchez Library Children can improve their reading skills by reading to a trained therapy dog. Pet Assisted Therapy teams and their handlers are from the Peninsula Humane Society & the SPCA’s Paws for Tales program. Please note that the Humane Society requires a signed release form each time a child comes to read. Please make sure a parent or guardian accompanies the child. Ages 5-12

Lawyers in the Library Tuesday, January 27 @ 6:00 p.m. Sharp Park Library The fourth Tuesday of each month the Sharp Park Library, in partnership with the San Mateo County Bar Association, holds free legal clinics. Participants have a twenty minute free consultation with an attorney. This month’s topics are adoptions, child custody and visitation, child support, spousal support/alimony, divorce, guardianship, paternity, separations, domestic violence, restraining orders. Registration required.
