Dad & Me @ the Library Presents Puppet Art Theater Co. Monday, March 2 @ 7:00 p.m. Sanchez Library Puppet Art Theater Co. performs hundreds of live performances for family audiences every year. Art Grueneberger, artistic director, is a master of developing marvelous puppet shows that delight audiences of all ages. All family members are welcome.

Registration required; register once and you're able to attend the rest of the sessions as well (Apr. 8 & May 13). Materials will be provided. Native Plant Lecture: Alrie Middlebrook Wednesday, March 11 @ 6:30 p.m. Sanchez Library In a partnership with the Pacifica Garden Club the Pacifica Libraries would like to present guest speaker, Alrie Middlebrook. Alrie Middlebrook is a committed advocate and practitioner of the sustainable lifestyle, a respected landscape professional, and a California Native Plant Specialist. Her build/design firm, Middlebrook Gardens, has installed over 600 California native gardens and remains on the leading edge of the rising sustainability movement. She will be speaking about drought resistant native plants and edible native plants.

Beekeeping Saturday, March 21 @ 12:00 p.m. Sanchez Library An introduction to the popular art of beekeeping in the Bay Area. Participants will get a first hand introduction into the equipment, resources and knowledge necessary to successfully maintain a small scale beekeeping operation. Presented by Richard Baxter of Golden Harvest Beekeeping and President of the Beekeepers Guild of San Mateo.

Paws for Tales Monday, March 23 @ 4:00 p.m. Sanchez Library Children can improve their reading skills by reading to a trained therapy dog. Pet Assisted Therapy teams and their handlers are from the Peninsula Humane Society & the SPCA’s Paws for Tales program. Please note that the Humane Society requires a signed release form each time a child comes to read. Please make sure a parent or guardian accompanies the child. Ages 5-12

Toddler Music and Dance Class presented by the Spindrift School of Performing Arts Tuesday, March 31 @ 10:30 a.m. Sharp Park Library Learn about basic music and rhythms, and the joy of music and dance. Work together as a group on gross/fine motor skills essential for success in Kindergarten and beyond! For parents and children ages 2-5 years old. Space is limited, so register today. Get Fit @ the Library Tuesday, March 31 @ 6:30 p.m. Sanchez LibraryThe first of a seres of programs promoting healthy living; which encompasses nutritious eating, mindful exercise, and improved mental health. In partnership with Fresh Approach, we are offering the following programs: March 31: Farmer’s Markets & Creating a Healthy Plate April 14: Selecting and Storing Fresh Produce April 21: How to Eat Healthy on a Budget April 28: Processed vs. Unprocessed Foods; Sugar (added sugars, naturally occurring, and artificial sweeteners) May 12: Eating the Rainbow Receive a $5 voucher at each program to spend at the Coastside Farmer's Market. Attend at least three programs and you will also be eligible to win a "Kitchen in a Box" kit.
