| The Objects of Her Affection by Sonya CobbSophie Porter is the last person in the world you'd expect to be stealing Renaissance masterpieces--and that's exactly why she's so good at it. Slipping objects out of her husband's office at the Philadelphia Museum of Art satisfies something deep inside, during a time in her life when satisfactions are few and far between.
A realistic picture of an ordinary woman pushed to extremes, this debut novel also provides great details of the museum world. For fans of The Heist by Daniel Silva. |
| The Forgers by Bradford MorrowThe murderer of Adam Diehl, a reclusive rare-book collector, begins to stalk Adam's sister's lover Will -- a convicted literary forger -- under the guise of letters from long-dead authors, and soon Will realizes that this killer threatens everything he holds dear.

| The Red Room by Ridley PearsonSecurity expert (and art trader) John Knox and his partner, former Chinese spy Grace Chu, are in Istanbul, having agreed to orchestrate a brief meeting and broker a trade. But they quickly find that they're prey to some unknown threat -- and that's before Grace is kidnapped and John is shot at.
Plenty of tradecraft and political commentary will satiate Gabriel Allon fans in particular -- and there are four books in the series (starting with The Risk Agent) for those who get hooked. |

Told in flashbacks that fill the novel with double-crosses, this leisurely paced tale combines both character study and suspense -- and plenty of details from the art and antiques world. For fans of The Passenger by Lisa Lutz. |
| The Heist by Daniel SilvaGabriel Allon, art restorer and occasional spy, searches for a stolen masterpiece by Caravaggio. Sometimes the best way to find a stolen masterpiece is to steal another one.
