Reasons to Read Graphic Novels- The Pictures: graphic novels are not just another type of picture book. The images can give the reader a quick understanding of what is happening, which might help kids who struggle with getting immersed in a book. However, this does not mean that the language of the book is not important. A good graphic novel will have images that reinforce the words not take the place of them.
- Vocabulary: Most graphic novels include higher vocabulary that can expose kids to new words.
- Inference: Kids learn to "read between the lines" using not only language but the images as well.
- Fast-Paced: Graphic novels are exciting, attention grabbing, and full of action.
- Readability: Just like a good traditional novel, good graphic novels can be read again and again.
