Meri Kirihimete from Waimakariri Libraries!
Christmas is a time for traditions, and Waimakariri Libraries has developed it's own traditions over the years. Each year we put Christmas trees up in our libraries and accept gifts from the community to go back to local families. The Summer Reading Challenge is also a big part of our Christmas and New Year season, and we love seeing children engaged and excited about reading. At this time of year it is important to take a break, and focus on family, friends, the community and yourself. There will be a few changes to our opening hours over the festive season. Full details of our hours, and the opening hours of other council facilities can be found below. If you are going away, remember that you can use our eResources from wherever you are. Just make sure you know your library card and pin number to access these services. Top tip: eAudiobooks on the BorrowBox app will revolutionise your long car journeys! Wishing you and your family a safe and happy Christmas and New Year.

Supporting local families this Christmas
We invite you to place a gift under the Christmas Tree at Rangiora, Kaiapoi or Oxford Library this December. Gifts will be distributed by local organisations (Hope Community Trust Rangiora, Kaiapoi Community Support, Oxford Community Trust) to local families in need. We request that any gifts donated are brand new, and have a small label to say the appropriate age group of the gift recipient.
