Summer Reading Challenge 2018/19 - coming soon!Planning is well underway for our annual Summer Reading Challenge. Waimakariri Libraries’ Summer Reading Challenge 2018/19 is a fun and inspiring reading programme designed to keep children and youth reading over the summer holidays. Participants complete reading challenges, earn incentives along the way, and upon completion are able to attend an age-appropriate finale prizegiving and party, and go in the draw to win some incredible prizes.There are three categories: - Preschool (0 – 4 years)
- Primary (5 – 12 years)
- Youth (12 – 18 years)

Kiwi Legends Library Mystery Trail!
New Zealand has been the birthplace of many wonderful inspiring people, and our Kiwi Legends mystery trail celebrates these people. This fun and free activity for children is happening at Oxford, Kaiapoi and Rangiora Libraries over these school holidays. All completed entries go into the draw to win one of three prize packs.

Author talk - Phil Walsh
Come and be entertained by Woodend author Phil Walsh at this lively ‘Friends of the Library' Event. Comical and light-hearted, Phil will again regale with his aspirations, accomplishments, and disasters of growing up on the Coast. Rangiora Library, Thursday 25 October, 7pm.
Signed books available $30 (cash only please). All proceeds donated to Dementia Canterbury (a representative to talk on the night)
