Friday, April 15, 4:30 pm NBL Program Room Using Sharpie markers, crafters can create their own stained glass-inspired vase to give as a gift for Mother's Day or brighten up any room this spring. Supplies will be provided. Wednesday, April 20, 4:00 pm NIC Community Room Students can prepare for the end of the school year by making stress balls to help them relax during exam time. For teens in 6th through 12th grades. Tuesday, April 26, 3:30 PM 95th Nomura Room Teens can make pixel art using Perler beads and cool patterns to create their favorite sci-fi star, video game plumber, geektastic icon, Stormtrooper or other popular characters. Wednesday, April 27, 4:30 NIC Community Room Creative teens can use oil-based Sharpie paint markers to decorate a mug that could be the perfect gift for Mother's Day.

Celebrate National Poetry Month with the library's Sixth Annual Teen Poetry Contest. The contest's three divisions are: 6th grade, 7th and 8th grades and high school. The contest will begin April 1, and the deadline for entries is 9 p.m. April 30. Winners will be announced mid-May, and the winning poems will be posted online. Prizes from area bookstores will be awarded. Pick up an entry form at any Naperville Public Library location or enter online at naperville-lib.org/teens/ teenpoetrycontest2016. Gamers can show off their mad gaming skills at the library's Wii Tournaments. Teens can compete to win bragging rights and a gift card. Those who don't want to participate in the tournament but love Nintendo can bring their DS to play for fun with other gamers. For teens in 6th through 12th grades.

NAMI The Silence: Mental Health Awareness Program (NIC)

Presenters from the DuPage County division of the National Alliance of Mental Illness (NAMI) will host this interactive teen presentation, Ending the Silence. The program will aim to help teens learn about the warning signs of mental health conditions and what steps they should take to find support for themselves or their friends.

YAY FOR YA! An Online Goodreads Book Club "Recurring, ongoing program. Lovers of YA literature can sign up for the library's online Goodreads book club. Each month, a new book will be selected, and readers can discuss it online through the participant's Goodreads account. Request to join the group "Yay for YA!: An Online Book Club" on Goodreads or email teen librarian Alison Colman at acolman@naperville-lib.org. New books will be posted at the beginning of each month, and participants will have the entire month to read it and discuss."

Monthly Teen Book Giveaway (95th)

Bookworms can receive a new book or advanced reading copy by visiting the lower level teen services desk on the second to last Monday of the month for the Teen Book Giveaway. To receive the book, teens should write a book review (the good, the bad and the ugly reviews will all be accepted) for the book received. Reviewers should return the book review to the library within the next month.
