Listed here are times when a volunteer from the Fox Valley Genealogical Society will be available in the adult services department to help any interested individuals who wish to obtain assistance either to get started on a genealogy project or to complete difficult genealogical research challenges. Find My Past Military Records Free November 8-12 In honor of Veterans Day military records are completely free from now until Sunday, November 12 on FindMyPast.com FindMyPast is especially useful for UK and Irish records, but also has records from the United States. If you have New York City Ancestors... You may want to expedite your research for NYC vital records. New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene is proposing a new rule that would restrict access to NYC vital records. 10 a.m. Nichols Community Room Jason Kruski, author of “ A Guide to Chicago and Midwestern Polish-American Genealogy,” will be returning to present tools particular to researching Polish-American ancestry in the United States and ancestral villages in Poland. Kruski will discuss a wide variety of records including vital, church and immigration records available on the internet from the USA and Poland. After the program, extend the genealogical camaraderie over light refreshments and share stories of your own genealogy research.
