The SyFy series "The Expanse" is adapted from these books. The second season should air in January, 2017.

Captured and raised by Danes in the ninth century, dispossessed nobleman Uhtred witnesses the unexpected defeat of his adoptive Viking clan by Alfred of Wessex and longs to recover his father's land.
"The Last Kingdom" is followed by "The Pale Horseman" and "Lords of the North." The tenth volume of the series, "The Flame Bearer," is due out on November 29th.
The first season of the television series "The Last Kingdom" aired on BBC America in 2015. Season 2 began filming earlier this year and is expected to premier on Netflix in 2017.

The eye of the world

"The Eye of the World" is the first in the 14 volume Wheel of Time series, and is followed by "The Great Hunt" and "The Dragon Reborn."
We may be cheating here a little as there is no actual TV series to watch yet. However, the rights to the books have been picked up by "a major studio," according to Harriet McDougal, Jordan's widow.

This series following Kurt Wallander spans 11 books, the second and third of which are "The Dogs of Riga" and "The White Lioness" respectively.
Four seasons of the "Wallander" television series aired from 2008-2016. It was produced by BBC and aired on PBS in the US.

This family saga, twelve volumes in total, continues with "Demelza" and "Jeremy Poldark."
BBC adapted the books for the "Poldark" television series, which airs on PBS in the US. Season 2 wraps up on November 27th.

Buffy the vampire slayer : season eight

In a direct follow-up to season seven of the smash-hit TV series, the Slayers have gotten organized and are kicking some serious undead butt, but not everything's fun and firearms, as an old enemy reappears and Dawn experiences some serious growing pains.
"Season Eight" is has been collected in eight trade paperbacks, the second and third titled "No Future for You" and "Wolves at the Gate" respectively. Dark Horse has also released "Season 9," compiled in to 5 trade paperbacks, and "Season 10" in 6 volumes.
"Buffy the Vampire Slayer" aired from 1997-2003 and ran for 8 seasons.

The Inn at Eagle Point
