Book Box Grades 3-8 Subscribe for the library's version of a subscription box. Enjoy a newly released J Fiction or Young Adult book and other fun bookish treats each month. Choose between realistic, mystery/thriller, scary, fantasy, science fiction, or historical fiction. Come to the Youth Services department to fill out your request. Return your box with the book each month for a new one.

1000 Books Before Kindergarten1000 Books Before Kindergarten is a Library program that encourages all families and caregivers to read at least 1000 books with their young children before they enter Kindergarten. Reading to preschool-age children builds vocabulary, language skills, and helps prepare them with the skills they need for Kindergarten. In as little as 15 minutes a day, families can build the skills for future school and life success. Register in the Youth Services Department and earn prizes along the way!

Read Down Your Fines Grades K-8 Do you have overdue fines on your library card? Now you can read those fines away. Prospect Heights Public Library wants to promote reading. The Read Down Your Fines Program is intended to help children reduce their outstanding fines so they can continue to use their library card without interruption. The Program encourages and promotes reading among our young people. There are no restrictions on what you can read. Patrons’ kindergarten through grade 8 can participate in this program. Young adults may also read to or with younger children and both of you can get credit for the time. Stop by the Youth Services desk to find out more.

100 Books Before High School Grades 5-8 100 Books Before High School is a Library program that inspires reading. Participants receive a reading reward after every 20 books and a free book after 100. Hurry into the Library today to register in the Youth Services Department.
